I saw on the net that the fens are sometimes referred to as the holy land of the English in part perhaps because of the abbeys and priories that abounded in times gone by. I called in what is left of one abbey today and after nearly knocking out a delightful blonde lady when I opened the door, I was still made welcome to view. This board shows the age of the place.
