Emancipation

This is a wonderful piece of art in the city. It depicts a woman emerging from a stone wall. The irony within is its placement; she faces the massive edifice of Galway Cathedral which was built using the money from the Magdalene Laundry. Arguably one of the most degrading , severe and cruel enslavers of women.
