Slightly Ruffled
I went out to breakfast with my brother Jim, and his neighbor John. After eating, I went back to the spot where I saw the sandhill crane babies that I shot a couple of weeks ago. They were either buried in the sand...or hiding behind a hill. They were not to be found.
So, I drove to a pond where I've seen crane babies for the last two years. No babies, and this crane (He/she?) didn't have a mate. I'm hoping that the mate was elsewhere doing crane stuff...but it has been my experience that they usually stick together. Maybe it was my imagination...but he/she gave off vibes of being sad.
I saw a crane couple on the way home. They are on my FLICKR PAGE. Dip on over, and have a look. So exciting to get SO close to such a magnificent bird.
Rain and more rain today. Rainy and cold.
Here's 4 posts of crane babies past.
