Its a wind up

This guy was winding down the window awning. Sometimes I wonder if their purpose is to keep off the rain?
This is the front window of a charity shop for the local homeless. It is one of the many varieties of charity shop that now occupy most of the High Street.
It was a mixed weather day-today. The Sun shone as I went into town this morning, then proceeded to hide as I looked to do some maintenance on the garden.
