Independence Day

Another challenge posed by the flag pole outside Bradford City Hall today; what is that flag, and why is it flying today?

I did recognise it as the flag of Bangladesh, but needed to investigate to discover that it is Independence Day. The blood red disc simultaneously represents the sun over the lush greenness of the country, and the three million people who died in the war for independence.
