Black Boy Fountain
I went to the dentist today. My dentist is in Allan Park, Stirling. Ity's a bit strange; I moved away from Stirling almost twenty years ago, but I've stuck with the same dentist.
Anyway, at Allan Park there are these two street ornaments - a decorative clock and this statue, apparently known as the "Black Boy Fountain" (according to www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk). Well, my apologies to the Black Boy for showing his bottom, but it was the only angle where I could get the statue and the clock in the frame. And since he has been there since the mid-1800s, I'm guessing he's probably not overly bashful any more.
Also, note the chimney pots behind - this would be from a tenament, each three-storey tenament having two "apartments" per floor, and each apartment having three rooms that had fires in them - hence eighteen chimney pots.
Santa must be kept really busy!
