catching up on some of my blips...

I had an appointment with my nephrologist (kidney specialist) today.  He didn't hesitate to give me his sexiest poses when I asked him if I could take his picture.

If I had known how the conversation was to follow, and all of the notes I was going to have to take, I may not have wanted to take his photo at all.

I walked out of the office as if I had been kicked in the stomach.

My lab work was a disaster.  Scheduled now are five IV iron infusions.  Also six months of a mega-dose of prescription vitamin D. The worst thing he said, and I don't think I will ever forget this, was that he is "more concerned that I will have a heart attack because of my blood pressure than he is of my chances of going on dialysis."

I see my dietitian tomorrow.  I will see what she has to say that might assuage my fears.  I haven't been this distressed about my kidneys since 2010.

Can anyone recommend an antacid?
