SK 605
After a day of exercise book checking and much soothing of agitated colleagues, I picked up a hire car and we went out to the Seabird Centre at North Berwick to have some wine and nibbles and to hear Tom give an excellent talk about the new book. A couple of important finds were on display for the guests to look at including a bone belonging to a Great Auk (long extinct) and the remains of SK 605, who met a sticky (or should that be stabby?) end sometime in the eleventh century. Mr H was pleased to reacquaint himself with Mr 605 who he hadn't seen for ages. Here you see him arranging what was left, ably assisted by the semi-legendary Rat who is sporting the stylish gloves.
Once Tom had signed all the books and D had enlightened all of Mr 605's eager viewers, we went round the corner to the Auld Hoose where we met Gary and the lovely Sands. She'd been too late to get a ticket for the talk, but at least was given a special private viewing of the Great Auk bone!
