When you walk into the Borough Market and see all this delicious food, your stomach will no doubt cry out - I am starving help! To top it up, imagine smelling your home style cooked food in the middle of a market in the City!
Gujrati Rasoi serves a range of typical gujrati dishes and thalis from their stall, and is run by a mother (Lalita) and son (Urvesh) team. They use traditional recipes passed down by their Nanis and Dadis (grandmothers) using only fresh ingredients and spices, and they make no compromise to speed things up! This is the secret to good gujju (indian) food, no short cuts!
What I also loved about this place, they serve the thali in a box!
For those who don’t know what a Thali is - Thali is the Hindi word for 'a large plate', but has now also become the commonly used expression for a style of eating in India! Thali the meal refers to many different dishes , a flatbread, rice, pickle, salad and dessert all served together.
