I have a new job!

Once upon a time I worked as a Project Manager in Nokia corporation. All in all I worked for Nokia over 13 years. Those years were the most interesting and exciting and I feel lucky that I was a part of Nokia's amazing history being the world's leader in mobile communication. In the end of 2012 I was given notice like so many other Nokians. It wasn't easy to get a new job. In Pirkanmaa region (like everywhere else in Finland) there are limited amount of open positions and huge amount of applicants.

Now it's official - I have a new job! I signed the papers today and I'll start next Tuesday. I dreamed getting a new career in totally different environment, yet where I could utilise my education and experience. When I started to be desperate, I got it - a dream job.

My new position is Project Coordinator in Finnish Social Science Data Archive @ University of Tampere. That's the thrilling news I got on 18th March..

I started blipping a few weeks after getting the notice. The idea was that I'll document the time I'm unemployed. I wanted to concentrate to positive things in my life. Photographing and blipping has helped me to cope. I also have fully enjoyed my walks with Sami, and leisurely time in cafes and in libraries. I have learnt how to work out in a gym and I have started ice swimming and smoke sauna hobby with my family. I've studied the most interesting courses in the university and got new friends. I have taken several art classes and I have had time to take a bit better care of our home.

Now it's time to turn the new page in my life. I'm excited, motivated and eager to start a new job!

P.S. Emma was back in the school today and in the evening she played in Viri's B girls team against Nokia BC. Viri won 32-38!

P.P.S. The picture is from the main building of university, next to Cafe Campus where they serve the cheapest and one of the best cappuccino in town.
