City slicker

How many cities have a motorway running right through the middle? I've always wondered whose bright idea it was to carve up Glasgow with the M8. I'm glad I don't have to cycle here... look at that tiny bike lane next to the white van.

I love visiting cities. I've looked in a few shops, wandered round Kelvingrove and seen The Book Thief. Now I'm lounging on my hotel room bed, looking out over the illuminated dome of the Mitchell Library. I can't believe it was only 12 hours ago when I stood in the woods entranced by a thrush singing. Of course I'll be glad to go home tomorrow night...

... and I'll be back in Scotland's Other city on Tuesday morning.
