Anyone for golf?

What a fab day!

We had planned a good day with the intention of a 9 hole golf course in the morning, lunch, then another 9 hole in the afternoon. Things didn't quite go according to plan though!

1) Cooked breakfast.
2) Travel to 9 hole course quite a distance away, one I've never been to before. Problem, it was closed due to it being so wet.
3) Travel to another 9 hole course, the one I usually play which we had planned to play in the afternoon. Decided to do two rounds instead. Problem, it was closed, presumably for the same reason.
4) Search internet and phone the next possible course.
5) Travel to 18 hole course - but the 18 hole is also a much longer course. Also we're now 1hr 15mins after our target start time.
6) Time for a coffee first!
7) Start to play 18 hole course. I've never been to that one. It was a wonderful course in a great setting. Quite hilly though and some of the holes were very long for me. The weather was superb, lovely sunshine and none of the rain that was forecast. We quit at the end of the ninth though. I couldn't have done any more and we were all tired. The ground was very wet and had made it hard going. It was a great game though.
8) Buy some wood for putting up shelves.
9) Go to pick up another new toy - new laptop great, Windows 8 rather challenging though!
10) Back home mid afternoon for a snack.
11) My brother kindly did some DIY for me - shelves and blind.
12) Quick tour of the village to show them where I am now.
13) Out to an Italian restaurant for a meal
14) Back home for wine and a chat

What a fab day! Thanks!
