Ribes Sanguineum

Flowering currents are easy to grow and generous in their flowers. One of the more floriferous and generous of the deep pink varieties is Ribes sanguineum ‘King Edward VII’ shown here. Ours are part of a mixed shrub hedge that provides us with beauty and the birds with cover. In the fall, the leaves turn a pretty golden amber and the birds enjoy the blue-black fruit.
