Friday night at a concert

Today I went to Tampere Hall with my mother to listen to the Tampere Philharmonic orchestra in:

Santtu-Matias Rouvali, conductor
Anu Komsi, soprano
Prokofiev: Symphony No. 1 ”Classical”
Glière: Concerto for Coloratura Soprano and Orchestra
Tiensuu: Voice Verser
Bartók: Dance Suite

Prokofjev was dreamy, harmonious and airy. I especially liked the amazing, technically challenging Voice Verser by Jukka Tiensuu. It felt like musical fireworks with the soprano, Anu Komsi in the main role.

Thank you Language Teachers' Association of Pirkanmaa Region for partly sponsoring the tickets and a glass of champagne during the interval! It gave me a beautiful descent to the weekend.

A will return from a business trip to Geneva tonight, and I can then just give a sigh of contentment - let the weekend begin!
