Scotch mist? No, it's an Edinburgh tram!
If you look at this large, if you are able, you might wonder why the driver looked horrified. I was zooming in from a distance not stood in the middle of the tramlines! Maybe he saw me with my hood up and thought 'Oh no! I'm about to kill Kenny!' I have no idea but I never noticed his expression until I was sat on my bed at A Haven going through pictures.
Despite not drinking much last night I felt a bit sick all day with a shocking headache. Had a text chat with Lesley who doesn't drink at all earlier and she felt the same, I'm wondering if something is going around. I went down to breakfast as normal but only managed bran flakes followed by scrambled eggs. Seattle Man turned up before I was finished and told me he has decided he wants to live in Newington. Apparently, it's very lively and studenty. Hmmmmm. 'Lively and studenty' does not sound like a place an old bag like me would choose to live. I wished him a good day and then took my time getting ready, replied to a few emails and then headed into town with no real plan in mind.
After wandering through a chilly breeze for half an hour in Princes Street Gardens, I decided to go to St Andrews Square. The road at the side is really wide and seemed a good place to hang about tram spotting. It's there where I got today's picture.
I caught the bus to the Cameo Cinema after that and saw a film called 'Labor Day' starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin. It was actually very good although I'm ashamed to say it made me a bit weepy. Fortunately, as it was just three boiled sweet sucking pensioners apart from me in there, no one noticed. I was glad it was a windy day when I came out into the daylight afterwards blinking owlishly. I was all prepared to tell people I had something in my eye if anyone wondered why I was teary. It's well worth seeing but not very realistic as there is a happy ending. Sob!
I caught the 11 up to Ocean Terminal, got myself dinner from M&S and then headed home to A Haven.
It was then off out to meet David, Lesley, Eric, Siobhan and Duncan at the Red Squirrel on the Lothian Road. It was a cracking night until David told me that this would be Blip 700! I never notice things like that and as you can tell, today is the same as any other day. The difference is that there is no such thing as a normal day in Edinburgh, the city of my dreams and heart. Every single day is a Blipday here; a day of celebration and I feel glad to be alive.
That's it. Reflections and sentiment done with. My feelings never change much. They probably just become more intense as time goes on.
Track? A relatively modern one for me from Ocean Colour Scene - The Day We Caught The Train
