in a flap

Thanks to everyone who sent their congratulations on my 300th blip yesterday. 

Walking along the shore of Rydal Water at 6.30 this morning I saw a swan gliding slowly and gracefully towards the boathouse. Plenty of time to prepare for a photo I thought. Suddenly there was a flapping sound and the swan appeared from behind a tiny island. No time to do anything other than press the shutter. This has has quite a generous crop. One day I will buy a longer lens.
