I went to London yesterday. I got tickets for a Friday Night Is Music Night recording at The Hackney Empire - it's being aired on the fourth of July, so there was an American theme. Michael Brandon compared, and amount the performers were Michael Xavier and (my absolute favourite jazz band) The Kansas Smitty's - so that was a lovely surprise. The repertoire was fantastic - Copland, Sousa and Gershwin to name but a few. It was the best concert that I've ever been to, and I didn't even pay for the tickets.
