trolling

Despite the below freezing temps when we awoke this morning, the birds are still doing their spring thing, i.e. trolling for a mate.
Here is a Northern Flicker, looking a bit confused because after he gave an awesome call followed by a few taps on the branch he was answered by the taps of a nearby woodpecker. Not what he was hoping for...
