Defending the castle gates

Castle Rising Castle, curious alliterative name, can often be relied upon to furnish a blippable photo, ghosts, old doors, stone steps, barred windows abound. I felt a bit doubtful if I could do anything different but went there just the same. Some enactment folk were on site staging a mock battle so I had a happy half hour watching and snapping.

And why mono? To shield you from the blood of course . . . . . .
