Pink Magnolia...

Chorlton in Manchester seems to be a good place to go Magnolia spotting at the moment. Last week I posted about a white Magnolia in the garden of a neighbour of a friend. Today the warm sunshine in the city has tempted this beautiful pink variety into bloom on Keppel Road in the centre of this pleasant, leafy suburb.

Keppel Road is famous as The Bee Gees lived at number 51 when they were boys, before moving to Australia.

At one end of Keppel Road there is a piece of artwork featuring Quentin Crisp leading many people to believe that it was here he died, in a friend's house, in Keppel Street. He did die in Chorlton but it was in a house in Claude Road.
