We went to the Royal Victoria Country Park today. It used to be Netley Hospital which treated soldiers from the Crimean War through to World War 2. Nearby is a large military cemetery with hundreds of headstones. This is the grave of Sgt Charles Calthorpe, who was wounded in the Boer War in 1900, invalided to the hospital at Netley and died there in 1901.
