No words...
To describe this day...my mother-in-law is in the hospital as I write this. She fell ill right after breakfast this morning and after several hours of watching over her, we all decided that she needed urgent care. We called an ambulance and my SIL, Linda, rode with her while the rest of us followed in our cars. We spent an anxious afternoon in the waiting room as the doctors ran tests and hydrated her. She is looking much better now and is asking for food, which is a marked improvement over this morning when we couldn't get her to eat.
She is doing okay for now, but is being kept for several days. Her eldest son, my BIL, is staying with her tonight so that she will not be alone. Her memory is so fragile that waking up in unfamiliar surroundings would be terribly disorienting for her.
As it stands right now, hubs and I are still planning to fly back to NJ tomorrow, but that may change.
Prayers and good thoughts would be gratefully accepted.
