Feeding the young

There were several adult ducks looking after several youngsters. The adult would dive, bring up some weed then pull it apart into a suitable size and feed the young one. I think they are scaup but not sure as they have that white line from their beak to the top of their heads. Been told they are Australian coot.
Got lots of closeup images of a pair with three chicks, however they would not look up for the camera, while they were grooming.
