To Hope

Today is the day of Local Elections in Turkey! Turkish people have a new goal against the current Power that has been the same for over 10 years: to expel them from their position no matter what. Many people supporting the opposition have been dreaming about it for years, but because the majority consists of rightist Power supporters (which unfortunately comes mostly as a result of self-benefit or poverty or being uneducated) their dreams could not be real. This year, after all brutalism the prime minister has applied on people, many more people joined the club of Current-Power-Haters, so they are willing to do whatever it takes, including voting for the main opposition party despite not supporting them.

It is definite that this approach is completely not democratic, but it seems like it is the last resort that we should consider.

I took this photo at the school where i voted, and thought to myself: "such a corrupted election taking place in such innocent places...that is ironic"
