An Upcycling Project.
When we were clearing the garage at my parents house prior to selling it, we came across this little set of draws. My dad had been keeping old screws, washers etc in it. Originally it was an old Coates Merser box - the sort they had in haberdashery shops to hold the bobbins of sewing thread. I do wish I had thought to take a picture of it before I asked hubby to paint it. The little thing on the top is one of the original bakerlite knobs, two of the draws had a knob but unfortunately the third just had a bit of wire threaded through it.
The pens are there just to keep the draws from getting accidentally closed.
Tomorrow we are going to Derby and there is an old shop there called Bennetts. If I am going to get new knobs for this then this is the only place I know of where I may get something small enough, and who knows the place has been going so long it is possible I may still be able to get something to match the two original ones I have. Fingers crossed.
In the future I am going to have a go at upcycling this though I have never tried anything like it before.
