Empty Nest

Had a wonderful day with our lovely son and lovely S, his girlfriend/partner. I never know what to call them the older they get. They took us for lunch at our favourite Thai restaurant which is an adjunct to the village pub in Stedham. Super atmosphere due to the friendly Thai people who run it, marvellous food and a special glass of bubbly and goodie bag for Mum. Really enjoyed it. Back to theirs for home made Bailey’s cupcakes and tea, Best of all, I love that they spend time with us, laid back and never rushed.

Sometimes I’m still very aware of my Empty Nest, and forever grateful that we now live only minutes away from each other. So finding this discarded nest in their garden seemed a highly appropriate image for this Mother’s Day. We placed it high enough to be safe, and maybe the robin will re-use it this year.
