Blue beach
It's another slow news day I'm afraid. The cough is still dragging on, and the weather is still cool; it rained overnight and has been overcast all day. I made another loaf of sourdough, and we continued our tradition since we've been here of going out for Sunday lunch. This time we chose the Vistamar, a short walk from home. You can just see the sea from there, between two dunes. The food wasn't spectacular, but it was better value than some of the other places we've been; we had a set menu at 20 euros, which included three starters, paella, dessert, bread, wine, water and coffee. And there was so much paella we had a doggy bag to take home (since doggy bags are unheard of in France we've only recently discovered that it's quite normal in Spain to ask to be given your leftover rice in a foil container). So that's dinner sorted!
We walked back along the beach. The sea was grey, the sand was beige, the sky was grey. So some faffing was required. I found I rather liked the result. If it doesn't float your boat, have a look in large.
And later, with some trepidation, we'll be watching the French local election results, hoping that any waves are light rather than dark blue.
