Over the hedge
While over the years on Dartmoor I have glimpsed deer in the distance or through a clump of trees I have rarely been able to get a clear shot at them, so when driving along one of the remote moorland roads this morning Mrs M caught sight of some through a hedge in a near by field I quickly pulled over to see a party of some six or more young Red Deer stags, grazing. They were obviously aware of my presence but hesitated long enough for me to get this picture,
While often seen in large herds on Exmoor I find them still a rare occurrence on Dartmoor
