Dog's Thoughts

While Marian was busy sculpting the puppy and only a few small pennies had found the hat, the old dog was thinking...
Life was too short to worry about fat bones, or grooming, or even which name to respond to. The big question in his mind was whether he would ever fit in the strange world around him or just continue attracting cheap curiosity for being a sand dog.
This thought made him a sad sand dog.


P.S. AS ILLUSTRATED BY SOME COMMENTS BELOW, IT MAY BE THE CASE THAT VERY SIMILAR SAND DOGS HAVE BEEN SPOTTED (AND BLIPPED) AROUND THE COUNTRY. CRAFT OR CRAFTY?
IF SO, THE AFTERTASTE IS QUITE DISHEARTENING.
