Mum's Day
Rosie and I decided to have a day out today, in my honour, being mothers day. We headed off to Iveragh Peninsula, our first stop was Staigue Hill Fort, built in the early centuries AD, the fortified home of a local and important Cheiftain. The walls were high and wide and the location amazing being at the top of a valley with views across Kenmare Bay to Beara.
Lunch in the pub at Caherdaniel, then an afternoon in the sunshine on the beautiful Derrynane beach. This ruined Abbey is can be reached by crossing a beach at low tide, quite a view!
