In Mourning

Today was a sad day. One minute my Mac was working fine. The next, it was in recovery mode with no chance of backing up the hard drive. I had to erase the HD and reload Lion.
It had been awhile since I backed up my photos. I did get earlier ones back, but lost hundreds! :(
I've learned the hard way- back up regularly!
