Weeping Lily

I did not know that a calla lily will weep.

I bought this lily several weeks ago, but it is still freezing every now and then at night, so I've kept it inside. A few mornings ago as I was rushing off to work I noticed that it was very dry, so I set it down in a bowl of water and ran out the door.

The next day, I noticed drops of water had formed on the tips of both leaves and flowers.

To test the theory, I let it dry out...no tears.
Then filled the bowl with water again and within hours...tears.

Who knew?
