Beautiful but Spikey

This bloom, beautiful as it looks, is vicious with it's very sharp spikes lying in wait for the hand that dares to prune it! As such, it perfectly fits the word 'Lochetic' in today's Challenge for March.

The bougainvillea is a problem all round. It takes over the garden, unless well tended, and it's paper-like leaves get into the pool filter; so we are doing our best to rid our Spanish villa of the plant. I have had my hands shredded when pruning it so I have been its prey on many occasions but 'she-with-the-pruning-secateurs' has the final laugh!
