Cattle Bridge

This is an old cattle bridge for crossing a small stream which I pass everyday on my way to work. Is is no longer used but it amazes me that years ago such attention was made to a bridge just for cattle to cross. I wonder if these days we would lavish such attention and craftsmanship to something just for cows to walk on.

Probably not and that upsets me a bit.
