Mothering Saturday

Susan and her mum, Doreen at the Cutty Sark, Greenwich. Mothering Sunday posed a bit of a challenge as despite checking calendars and dairies when filling in my railway availablity we somehow missed that 30th March was Mothering Sunday. So we decided, with quick thinking and slight of hand to have Sunday on Saturday. Doreen was up for the idea so we took a trip to Greenwich, had lunch at Zizzi's down by the river, visited the University and Greenwich Discovery Centre and a walk along the Thames on a glorious afternoon.

There appeared to be several benefits to this decision especially in terms of lunch - which wasn't full of Mum's being taken out for Sunday lunch at some inflated price and in terms of having 2 bites of the cherry as she's coming round to us for Sunday dinner tomorrow.

The afternoon finished off with several cups of tea and golden syrup cake. All in all, a good day.
