March 30th 2009 - Our final Sunset here

I was meant to be up at 5.45am for snorkelling but my throat was hurting so I went back to sleep. At 8am I was woken for breakfast but my throat was still hurting so, again, I went back to sleep. I finally got up at 11.15am and went to meet the rest for lunch, able to lock the door but hungry enough not to hang about. After dinner at the Funky Donkey I emailed home for possibly the last time from the Ecuadorian mainland and had a fine Maracuya, Banane y Fresca juice before heading to surf.

The surf was slightly disappointing. The waves were a bit weak and the rides did not last long. We messed about in the water until it was heading towards sunset. We went to the cliffs (or to be specific a church at the top of the cliff) for sunset and headed back along the beach afterwards. The blip is when the sun was down behind the cliffs on our walk back down the beach on our final night in Montañita. We went back to the hostel for a steak, fish and shrimp BBQ – delicious by the way – before heading into town for a little while, relaxing and chilling with juices and pancake.
