Lone Pine

A lovely day. T, K, N and I went to our favourite pub for lunch - Mothering Sunday! Afterwards N and I went for a short walk in the parkland of a large neighbouring estate. The wild spring flowers and beautiful specimens of indigenous trees were spectacular, the sap rising and buds about to burst everywhere. This pine tree is quite dramatic in its height. There is also evidence that it once had a sister trunk which must have come down in a storm some time ago.
