Hingin' and Dreich!
I once heard a TV weather forecaster say that there was no weather. I think what she meant was that nothing in particular was happening. Edinburgh was like that today. It was dry but dampness was in the air. There was a breeze but not a wind. It was cold but not too cold. Gradually the day changed and now it is raining but nor much. There are two old Scots words to describe today's weather - hingin'(hanging) and dreich (drab or dreary).
