Pentland fence
I had a half day to take before the annual leave year finished, so I skipped off work at lunch and cycled the long way home, via the Pentlands. Very misty and atmospheric, sharing the hills with just newborn lambs, ewes and the occasional fisherman. And I had just enough layers to keep the chill air at bay.
It was just over a year ago that I gave up smoking. I still miss it. But getting to the top of the lovely tree lined avenue beyond Threipmuir Reservoir and still having some puff left for the last ten miles - most of it downhill (smiley face) - makes it more than worthwhile.
I do like a good fence too.
