Sluice Gate

My 'New Delft Blue' journal often portrays our Dutch heritage, culture, buildings or just typical Dutch things.

Holland is a country thats probably the flattest on earth, but it's also one of the lowest as the largest part of our country is below sea level.

It made us famous for our dykes, windmills and water management in general.

It's so common to me that I almost forgot that sluices are also an important part of keeping our feet dry.
Almost forgot, but today I saw these sluice gates and realized theres an entry in that item too.
