Purbeck: Kingston, West Street

This village is on the top of a ridge, to the south of Corfe Castle and east of Swanage; at the road junction, you turn left to go down the hill to Corfe, or go straight onwards for Swanage.

Immediately before the junction, on the left, is the Scott Arms. A building dating back several centuries, it provides its customers with stunning views of Corfe Castle and the valley below.

All the buildings here are of Purbeck stone, which is quarried a few miles further along the Swanage road. The ornate stone village pump can be seen a little to right of centre, by the side of the road.
