Time, precious time
Every parent will tell you, when you first become a mum or a dad, that you should cherish each day with your children when they're little, because they grow up so quickly, and that time is precious. And every parent who tells you that is right. It seems like five minutes ago that I took Ophelia to her first toddler group. She was only a few days old then. Now she is four years and four months old, and today was her last baby and toddler group before she starts school after Easter. We made some chocolate cakes together this morning and then took them to toddler group. Ophelia had a whale of a time as ever, playing with her friends big and small. This afternoon, she and I lay on the sofa and watched tv together - 'The snowman and the Snowdog' (of course!). At least Ophelia and I will still have these afternoons once a week before September, when she starts school full time. And I hope to make the most of each one. She's still little after all, and time is precious.
