Another Member Of My Family

Hamish: this is Elsie our last remaining chicken. The others have all died of old age although one was killed by a dog. There used to be 6: Alice (death by dog); Dulcie; Elsie; Gertie; Myrtle (who survived being carried off by a fox) and Nellie (who famously survived being mauled by a neighbours spaniel). Elsie seems to love being an only hen. She tries to come into the house when S isn't looking. She looks grumpy in this picture. To be honest I am a bit scared of her.
