The Source
We set out from Farnham at around 9 am and drove steadily northwards. It's always a pleasure to notice the traffic thinning out as one gets north of Preston/Lancaster, but I was still completely scunnered with the motorway by the time we got to Moffat so turned off hoping for a scenic run past the Grey Mare's Tail, but the road was closed for....something or other. Drains? Resurfacing? New born lambs? Anyway, I had to resort to the "official" scenic route (which isn't very), past the Devil's Beeftub (is that right? Or is it his Elbow, or his Punchbowl?) and then past a layby that advertised itself as being beside the source of the river Tweed.
So here it is.
