My Birthday
It's my birthday, and due to the time difference in Australia I got 11 extra hours in it! I started getting birthday message from home well before I went to sleep last night and woke up to an incredible amount this morning. It was a good way to start the day.
I headed to work, where the science department were dressing up because it was the end of science week. The theme was 'dramatic science' and I craftily avoided dressing up by drawing this image on a t-shirt. One of the other staff brought in his kids little bunny who looked like Morrie when he was a baby, so that made me pretty happy!
Later in the day I was called down to reception. They didn't tell me why so I kind of felt like I was in trouble and being called to the principles office - but not so! I had received a delivery! My lovely Damian had organised a gorgeous personalised bottle of french merlot from my year of birth (1988) to be delivered to me at school! He's definitely a keeper, that one. (Thank you, my love!)
After school the science department headed out for drinks and dinner in Blackheath which was a good opportunity to chat and get to know more of my colleagues. After a few hours we wrapped up and I headed home to Skype with Damian (while enjoying a glass of red!) and later skyped with Mum, Kez and Annabelle. All in all, a fantastic birthday. I am so very grateful for being so very loved.
