Yellow....

There's a lot of yellow about at the moment. Here's a picture of some Lesser Celandine that I saw on a bank beside Leigh Golf Club near Culcheth in Cheshire. They have distinctive heart shaped flowers and these waxy, buttercup yellow flowers. They are one of the first flowers to come out in the woodlands taking advantage of the lack of the leafy canopy at this time of the year. But I'm told that gardeners are less enamoured of them as they can be a bit of a thug in a garden...
