Today's task was to re-integrate herbarium sheets that had been removed for photographing. Most of the specimens are brown, but some, like this poppy, still retain some colour.

The herbarium was largely collected by Robert Dick of Thurso (1811-1866). After rising early in the morning to bake bread - he was a baker - he would set off to collect local flora.
