Alert for danger

This hare popped up very close to me this morning. I watched him for a while, and eventually he lolloped off across the green. He paused to wander near a rabbit that had been sitting right out in the middle of the field - but he backed off quickly. The poor old rabbit was ill - probably myxi - and the hare was smart enough not to go too close.
