Exploring

This morning I decided on a walk in Panmure Estate by Carnoustie. A bit drizzly and misty but worth it.

I just love the smell of the woods and the wonderful birdsong lifted my spirits.

I visited Camus Cross medieval standing stone and the Panmure Testimonial Monument built in 1839, which I haven't seen since childhood. In fact I'm sure I was on horseback the last time I was here...a long time ago!

Wonderful history surrounds these two places and since I've borrowed an ordinance survey map of Angus, I might make a point of visiting other monuments and standing stones in the area. Make a theme of it.
