On the way

I walked home tonight for the first time all year. As some of you may remember I live about a mile and a half from my office, and the latter is about 15 minutes by foot beyond the tower in this slightly murky portrait of the world famous (well alright, perhaps not really) Harrogate Stray.
It's finally dawned on me yesterday when I left the office in daylight and - gasp! - sunshine that winter is now officially over. I am hoping that one particular aspect of this winter will soon be over as well.
